WHO'S NOVA MATERIA
Caroline Chaspoul and Eduardo Henriquez are the founding members of Nova Materia, a Franco-Chilean duo exploring the boundaries between electronic music, post-punk, and industrial rhythms.
Before forming Nova Materia, they founded and led Panico, the groundbreaking Chilean post-punk band known for fusing punk with Latin sounds, which gained recognition across Europe in the early 2000s.
Nova Materia stands out for its innovative approach, using unconventional instruments such as metals, stones, and found objects to craft immersive and experimental soundscapes. Their music blends avant-garde elements while maintaining a hypnotic, danceable rhythmic dimension influenced by techno, industrial music, and post-punk.
Renowned for their intense live performances, their concerts evolve into true sonic ceremonies, where hanging iron tubes, stones, and metal plates transform into industrial and mineral percussion. The result is a unique, hypnotic, and cosmic experience. No one leaves a Nova Materia concert unscathed—it’s a true "sonic mass."
The duo has released several albums and EPs on influential labels like Kill the DJ and Crammed Discs, performing at prestigious international festivals and concert halls worldwide.
They are also involved in transdisciplinary artistic collaborations with visual artists, choreographers, and performers, solidifying their reputation as creators of total sonic experiences. Among these collaborations is their work with Laurent Garnier and The Limiñanas on the track "Que Calor," where Eduardo Henriquez wrote and lent his voice for an energetic, psychedelic song.

For over ten years, Caroline and Eduardo have been composing for film and the performing arts, a body of work that has received multiple awards. They are currently associate composers at Les SUBS in Lyon, a venue dedicated to contemporary creation and the performing arts.

IMMERSIVE SOUND INSTALLATION
Since the pandemic, Nova Materia has developed a new approach centered on immersive sound installations. Driven by strong social, political, and ecological dimensions, these works take on a variety of forms. Some explore immateriality, such as the collective project RESISTE, while others materialize through physical structures, as in ONDA.
All of these projects can also be adapted into live performances, reflecting a strong commitment to presenting this work across multiple, complementary formats.
